WinCo Foods opening first store in Surprise with 130 employees

SURPRISE, Ariz. – WinCo Foods has opened its first store in Surprise, initially employing 130 workers. WinCo Foods hired 120 of those individuals locally at its new store at 16925 W. Bell Road.

The 85,000-square-foot store is WinCo’s seventh discount supermarket to open in Arizona and features the “Wall of Values” at the entry, which displays a wide variety of high volume products with particularly good pricing. The perimeter of the sales floor includes large fresh produce, bulk foods, meat, deli, seafood, and bakery service departments. The unique bulk foods department allows customers to buy only the amounts they want and displays more than 700 items, including many natural food products, organic items, snacks, candies, cereals, flours, pastas, spices and more.

WinCo Foods is an employee-owned company founded in 1967 in Boise, Idaho. WinCo currently employs more than 15,000 individuals and operates 101 stores and five distribution centers.
