Wasabi Ventures of Silicon Valley launching in Arizona’s Silicon Desert

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – Early-stage venture capital firm Wasabi Ventures announced new operations in Arizona, with a principal office in Scottsdale. Twenty companies are planned in Arizona over the next two years.

Wasabi Ventures is hosting a launch party at Deskhub Thursday, June 4, from 5:30-8:30 p.m. The firm is expected to announce its Phoenix cohort planned for July. Wasabi Ventures Academy offers a 13-week entrepreneur education program to teach about the startup world and provide opportunities to form or join startups along the way.

It provides venture acceleration support services to startups through the Furnace Technology Transfer Accelerator program. Wasabi already has operations in Tucson and has partnered with the Northern Arizona Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology for programs in Flagstaff, Prescott and Maricopa to launch near the end of July in conjunction with the new NACET accelerator. The first cohort will run during Startup Weekend Flagstaff around the first of October.
